Where the Donau reaches the Karpat-basin it spreads in several bigger and smaller arms and builds up a huge island world, which is called „Schüttinsel”. Did you know that this wonderful water world consists of more than 300 islands and 800km water ways? Discover this unique island world and you will be able to observe nature’s wonders just in front of you.
During the tours, which we organize, you have the possibility to discover the most beautiful places on the „Schüttinsel” with the help of our well trained tour guides. The „Schüttinsel” with its nearly 400km² is the environment for many rare plants and animals, which you can not find in other places. Along the feeders there are galery forests and grasslands, where you can observe the animals in their natural habitat. Mallard ducks, cormorants, silver and gray herons are accompanying you during your expedition, and with a little luck you may even see deers, wild pigs and spoors of beavers. During the tour you can visit the hydropower plant and the ground sill in Dunakiliti, as well as the „fish stairs” in Dunasziget.
Our tours are guided by tour guides who have a lot of expert knowledge and good knowledge of the places. The canoes for 3 or 4 persons are comfortable and even beginners will feel safe in it. All tours start with an instroducing instruction of the tour guides about how to get in and out the canoe and the technique of paddling. Every participant receives paddles, a life vest and waterproof tons as equipment. Children are allowed to participate up from 3 years!
